About the site

The Public Opinion, Political Marketing and Electoral Behavior Research Group, based in Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), was formally created in the year of 2009 from a gathering of researchers of such subjects. Its purpose is to carry out multidisciplinary studies that aggregate the experiences and knowledge produced by each of its participants. The group is coordinated by professor Helcimara de Souza Telles, from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. The group is currently composed of researchers and students from various academic and research institutions.

The group also receives institutional support from IPESPE - Instituto de Pesquisas Sociais, Políticas e Econômicas, which signed a Term of Cooperation with Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) for the development of research, education and extension activities. The participants of this action have been undertaking quantitative and qualitative research in various locations in Brazil, focusing on electoral campaigns, free political advertising and the behaviour of voters.

The group is currently developing studies focused specifically on the subject of the logic of voters and of vote decisions in municipal elections.
